BE ADVISED,

DO NOT BELIEVE ANY STOVE MANUFACTURER  LISTED STOVE BURN TIMES.

STOVE COMPANIES GREATLY EXAGGERATE TENT STOVE BURN TIMES. Some companies exaggerate burn times 50-100%.

The only way to compare burn times between different camping wood stove models is to compare the size of stove firebox in cubic feet and if the stove has a door gasket. The more wood you can put in a stove - the longer the camping wood stove will burn.

A wood camp stove must have a DOOR GASKET TO BE AIR TIGHT. A door gasket (airtight stove) allows you to control the rate of burn better. Some companies claim their stoves are airtight. No gasket, the wall tent stove is not airtight.

Bottom line: The stove with a door gasket and with the largest fire box, will provide the most heat and have the longest burning time regardless of what a stove salesman states.

The Wilderness and Yukon stoves will burn longer than any other tent stove as they have the largest fire boxes available measured by cubic feet and have  a gasket on the door.

SAFETY - WATER TANKS. Do not remove a water tank that is hot. If you accidentally lose your grip or if the tank does not become disengaged properly from the tank bracket you will spill boiling water on yourself and require immediate medical care for extremely painful 1st degree burns.

                                                                                                     TESTIMONIALS

I used the Yukon 5 stove last year hunting in my Wilderness canvas tent I purchased. Biggest stove I have ever seen and boy did it keep me warm. Steve

If it is of any interest, it was your video of yours that convinced me of purchasing that wilderness stove of yours.  It was well done pointing out the features, benefits and competitor deficiencies.  It is a great stove.  Tim

Took the wilderness 5 deluxe package with me on my elk hunting trip.  Stove is well built and puts out a tremendous amount of heat.  Heated my 16 x 20 tent just fine.  Water tank came in handy washing dishes and just having warm water when we need it. Eli

Rich,  I am glad you recommended the inline spark arrestor when I purchased my wilderness tent stove.  My old stove just had the spark arrestor on the top of the last section of pipe.  We only burn pine as that is what is available.  What a pain taking the stove pipe down every day to clean the top spark arrestor and then reassembling the pipe. Cleaning the inline spark arrestor is just so much quicker and easier.  Pulling the screen out on the inline spark arrestor 2-3 times a day is so much better.  Especially when cleaning the screen only takes a minute. Wilson

The wilderness stove is the best stove I have ever used.  It is so well built.  Extra support rods inside stove makes it so much stronger and prevents warping.  I like my wilderness 5 size.  Just like you said, when you don't have too cold of weather don't fill it full.  When it is very cold, fill it to the max and let it roar. Thanks again.  Tom

I got my Wilderness 5 tent stove the other day.  All I can say is WOW.  It is the cadillac of a tent wood stove. I hunt in very cold weather and I was using the largest stove of your competitor to heat my 14 x16.  There is no comparison.  When my son sees the Wilderness 5 he will crap his pants.  Joseph  320

Thank you for getting my new tent stove out to me before our elk hunt.  You guys are great. Top quality Wilderness 5 is exactly what I wanted for my 16 x 20 tent. If I am successful in getting a bull I would have to say you all payed a warm part in it.  Either way my hunt will be cozy and warm thanks to you guys. I will do business with you again.   Rob

I recently purchased the Yukon 4 from you for our elk hunting trip.  I was very impressed how long the stove wood warm.  It really made our hunting trip much more comfortable.  The draft was great as we didn't have any smoke come back in our tent when we opened the door like our previous stove.  Thanks again.  Tim

I received my wilderness small tent stove today and checked it out.  I wanted to thank you for your quick shipping.  Tent Shop is the best online site I have ever shopped at.  I look forward to future purchases. Joseph

I just wanted to send you a quick thank you.  I was very surprised to see how quickly my new tent stove showed up.  The Yukon 4 has great quality construction.  It will be perfect my late deer hunt.  Curtis

We set up our tent on April 1st with lodge poles on a deck.  On April 15th we had the worst snow storm for some years, 15 inches of snow.  30 miles per hour winds gusting up to 40. Tent and tarp fly and all eave ropes gave us no trouble even though it sounded like everything would blow away.  Wilderness 4  tent stove worked fine and kept us warm during the bad weather.  Shane

Thanks for providing a great stove.  You have already answered many questions for me during my Wilderness 5 camping wood stove purchase phase.  Now I have more questions so I thought I would pick your brains on some more info now.

We stored our camping wood stove and we were wondering if we treat the stove with some type of oil?  No, the next time you used it there would be smoke from the stove burniing off the oil.  Just clean out any ash residue in the stove and store your tent stove in a dry location, preferrably in a garage, even if  heated at a very low temperature.

I want to keep mice out of and other critters out of my stored tent. What do you recommend for a container to store this huge 16 x 24 tent and porch?   On larger tents, it is best to store it in a very large trash can.  Insure the trash can closes tight to prevent mice entrance.  A mouse will burrow itself to the middle of your tent going through many layers of folded canvas.                                                                                                               GENERAL INFORMATION

A larger and heavier wall tent stove is more appropriate for base camps and tent camping near a road. These heavier camping wood stoves are much more durable (1/8" steel) than the a lightweight wall tent stove.

WARNING: Tent wood stoves are designed for use in tents and outside only. Use of tent stove in a cabin, workshop, etc., is at your own risk. Special double wall pipe is required for any camping wood stove installation in any type of building. Contact your local stove dealer for state and federal requirements for pipe requirements/stove jack going through a roof or a wall. Insure you have fireproof material underneath all camping wood stoves and have proper heat standoff distance from walls.

HEAT SAFETY DISTANCE: Always have at least a 2 foot area around your wood camping stove where there are no flammables. Also, sometimes sparks might pop out of the stove air intake openings if there is not a screen covering the openings. Be careful when opening the stove door as sometimes a spark will pop toward you or a small piece of burning wood might fall out of the stove.

IF YOU HAVE A STOVE PIPE OPENING IN A WALL, you will need to purchase straight pipe and 2 elbows with your stove. Most stoves have nesting pipe with different sizes of pipe that fit inside one another to allow storing pipe in the fire box. Elbows will not work with nesting pipe.
